Designer Profile: Julia Ivanska

Julia’s interest in art and fashion started from a young age when would recycle her mom’s old clothing, as a result of that, recycling is particularly close to her. Julia made her first steps into fashion design when she studied arts in Ukraine. From there she showed her first collection in the Marais showroom in Paris then participated in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kiev.  She constantly tries to improve herself as it is one of her main goals . Design is the one thing that she will always love, and love working in. She usually draws inspiration from nature.  The inspiration behind her sketch comes from a swan, especially the voluminous sleeves that represent wings. The white colour symbolizes purity, grace and weightlessness. For the material she chose to use white sugar bags and canvas. Julia believes that fashion designers should think more about the environment, especially recycling, because it is an important subject that touches us all. This is why Julia has taken on this opportunity to contribute to sustaining and improving the environment. She believes that we need to be able to display clothing that can be both fashionable and eco-friendly.
